Today I got back my Macbook Air after a two and a half weeks of service. See, the monitor had something like dead pixels and then it evolved to something like a complete monitor failure. All was black. Anyway, everything’s fine now. Point is, that the past weeks I had to use my old netbook. I recently mentioned about why Air wins the netbook but this time is different.

As you may know, I love portability, because – especially in winter, I travel a lot. That’s why I bought a netbook last year. It did the job great. It is small, lightweight, portable, the battery lasts pretty much long and is comfortable to travel with. When I am at home, I plug it to a 19″ Samsung monitor and I feel like I’m using a normal desktop PC or just a more powerful laptop. But why did I change my mind now, almost a year after using and evangelizing netbooks?

As I travel a lot in the winter up in the mountains for ski, I wanted to buy a new lighter and more portable laptop than my Gericom one. So, I decided to go for a netbook, despite the lots of controversial posts of the positives and negatives of netbooks. Dave Winer’s post about them made me wanting a netbook much more, because I was searching for a lightweight, cheap, small and good on hardware laptop.
